Description
NAUTITECH 40 - THE BLUEWATER CATAMARAN, READY TO CAST OFF
Built by NAUTITECH in 2008, this 12-metre catamaran offers exactly what long-distance crews look for: generous volumes, sound seakeeping and a rare level of autonomy for this size. Four cabins, eight berths and a bright, seamanlike living platform make the NAUTITECH 40 as suitable for a family as for a couple preparing an extended cruise. Price: €169,000 VAT paid.
Construction and seakeeping
Polyester hull and fibreglass (PRV) deck for a proven structure and straightforward upkeep. At 11.98 m overall, 6.70 m beam and just 1.20 m draft, she combines platform stability with access to shallow anchorages. A displacement of 7,400 kg, standing rigging renewed in 2016 and a FACNOR furler of the same year keep the key items fresh. The sail wardrobe follows suit: fully battened mainsail and genoa from 2016, gennaker with UV strip redone in 2023.
Power and autonomy
Twin VOLVO D1-30 30 hp engines, three-cylinder with seawater cooling, deliver a 7-knot cruising speed at 4 l/h and 11 knots top speed, showing 3,950 and 3,870 hours respectively. Autonomy is a genuine strength: 270 litres of fuel, 900 litres of water and a DESSALATOR 60 l/h 12V watermaker with 519 hours, backed by 650 W of solar panels, a VICTRON 1000 W inverter and AIR TRONIC heating for off-season cruising. FRANCE flag.
