MARCHI SPA 65 - THE ITALIAN MOTOR YACHT BUILT FOR LONG-RANGE CRUISING
Built by the Italian yard Marchi Spa and launched in 1993, this 65-footer has real presence on the dock. Twenty metres of hull under Italian flag, three cabins and eight berths: a motor yacht from the generation of transalpine cruisers designed to cover miles with family or friends, with the volume and range of a genuine travelling boat. Construction and seakeeping
A 20 m GRP hull with 5.50 m beam, 1.50 m draft and a 30-tonne displacement: figures that explain her reassuring behaviour in a seaway. Decks are laid in teak, the hallmark of large Italian builds of the period, with generous circulation from the bathing platform to the foredeck.
Power and range
Twin MAN D2840LE404 of 850 HP drive conventional shafts, showing 850 and 890 hours respectively. Cruising speed is quoted at 13 knots, backed by 5,000 litres of fuel and 1,000 litres of fresh water - enough range for long passages without a technical stop. Bow and stern thrusters, trim tabs and a hydraulic passerelle make harbour manoeuvring straightforward.
