Description
ETAP YACHTING 38I - THE UNSINKABLE CRUISER READY FOR BLUE-WATER MILES
Built by ETAP Yachting, a yard known for its integrated-buoyancy hulls, this 1990 38i stands for a rare philosophy: sail far, with family aboard, and with an extra safety margin. An 11.57 m cruiser with a genuinely versatile programme, offered at €39,000 VAT paid, under FRANCE flag.
Construction and seakeeping
Polyester hull and PRV - fibreglass deck for a 6,500 kg displacement over 11.57 m length and 3.87 m beam. A 1.55 m draft opens up anchorages and coastal cruising grounds. The rig was fully renewed in 2022, both standing and running, and the in-mast furling mainsail combined with the genoa makes shorthanded sailing straightforward. Mainsail track and car, backstay and halyard turning blocks complete a coherent deck layout.
Power and life aboard
The VOLVO 2003T, 40 hp, 4-cylinder diesel drives through a sail drive — seal replaced in 2022 — for a 6-knot cruising speed, 9 knots maximum, with a stated 2 l/h consumption. Tankage of 100 l fuel and 200 l water supports long legs. Below, 2 cabins and 7 berths, a convertible saloon, galley with hob, oven and electric fridge, hot water off the engine. Up to 8 people aboard.
