Yacht Charter Security and VAT Problems in Turkey: To be Discussed at Bosphorus Boat Show

A seminar focusing on security and VAT issues in the yacht charter sector in Turkey will take place as part of the Bosphorus Boat Show at the Istanbul Expo Center from February 17-24. The seminar will be organized by TYBA (All Yacht Operators, Brokers and Agents Association of Turkey)

This important event will discuss critical issues such as the need to improve security in the yacht charter sector in Turkey and the high VAT rates faced by yacht tourism companies.

Bringing together industry leaders and experts, this seminar will address the importance of safe yacht charter practices and the vulnerabilities created by private boats operating without commercial and legal obligations.

It will also discuss the impact of the exclusion of yacht charter services from the 10% VAT advantage that applies to tourist hotels, despite their place in the tourism sector. The seminar will emphasize the need to reduce VAT rates to 10%, which yacht charter companies have been demanding for a long time.

On February 22, 2024, between 16:00-17:30, leading names and experts of the sector will attend this important meeting.

The seminar will be moderated by Güneş Aysun, President of TYBA and owner of Galeo Yachting. Speakers will be

H. Serhan Cengiz TYBA Vice President and Veladare Yachting Owner
Noyan Mutlugil TYBA Board Member and Owner of Mutlutur Yachting-
Aline Mulino Braggiotti/ Lawyer Alba Legal Firm
