Development of hydrogen-powered engines

Yamaha Motor Co., Honda Motor Co., Kawasaki Motors, and Suzuki Motor Corporation have recently made a significant announcement regarding their collaboration in the development of hydrogen-powered engines. Together, these renowned Japanese manufacturers will establish a technological research association known as HySE, which stands for Hydrogen Small mobility & Engine technology.

The primary objective behind this alliance is to tackle the growing concern surrounding the use of fossil fuels to power internal combustion engines. This issue becomes particularly significant when considering the substantial number of small capacity, single cylinder engines that are utilized globally.

What sets this announcement apart and makes it noteworthy is the fact that the four major Japanese manufacturers have decided to unite their efforts specifically in the domain of hydrogen as a fuel source. This collaborative venture places emphasis on the potential of hydrogen as an alternative energy source for mobility, as opposed to solely focusing on electric power.
