1968 Wing 25 for sale in Kent

This 1968 Wing 25 is a moderate drafted long keeled cruiser with a well deserved reputation for its sea handling capabilities. This example is presented in very good condition for her age. The current owner has undertaken a lot of work on the vessel since February 2023. She is only being sold as the owner is relocating abroad. An early viewing is highly recommended.

Accommodation :
The accommodation offers four berths in two cabins with approx 5ft 9in headroom. In forecabin, V berth with stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Full width heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet. In saloon, two settee berths. Galley to starboard. Two burner gas hob with grill (2013). Stainless steel sink with pressurised water supply (10 litres capacity). Chart table. New linings, recent blue upholstery in forward cabin and saloon upholstery in 2018. New floor boards. Radio with USB port & SD card slot.

History & Construction:

Built in 1968 to a design by Colin Mudie. Blue painted GRP hull (resprayed 2013). Varnished wood rubbing strakes. GRP superstructure (resprayed 2013) with painted non-slip to deck. Long keel with encapsulated ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self draining cockpit. The 2013/4 refit included a new Nanni diesel with new propeller and shaft, wiring checked and replaced as necessary, fuel tank cleaned and repainted, bilge repainted, new water tank, new guard wires, stanchions re-bedded, new windows, new upholstery, new toilet, sea cocks serviced, new cooker, new interior lining, new lighting, full hull and superstructure respray in light grey with white non skid decks, mast and boom resprayed and new running rigging. Last surveyed in 2019.

In 2023 hull has been scrapped back to bare glass and spots of osmosis treated, filled and fared and have had 3 coats of epoxy primer applied and 2 coats of sea jet black antifoul applied. All seacocks replaced The owner is only selling as they are relocating abroad.

This Wing 25 is a deck stepped, masthead rigged sloop. It has a painted aluminium alloy mast and boom that were resprayed 2013. Stainless Steel standing rigging. Terylene running rigging new 2014. All lines led aft to the cockpit with Barton jammers. Slab reefing mainsails with stack pack and lazy jacks. Furlex head sail furling system. Spinnaker pole.

Mechanical Systems:

Located under the companionway steps is a Nanni two-cylinder 10HP diesel engine that was fitted new in 2010 and first used in 2014. The engine is freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft drive to a Darglow feathering three blade propeller that was fitted in 2016. Single lever controls. It has a 20-litre steel fuel tank that was cleaned, overhauled, and re-painted in 2013.
