The ship's keel was laid in 1984 and launched in 1990. The ship is built of larch wood on oak trusses. The deck consists of 28 mm teak. Luna was drawn and built by a marine engineer Viggo Asmussen in Tasinge. A place in the South archipelago of Denmark. Luna is designed and built to the principles of a Norwegian lifeboat with the famous Colin Archer as inspiration. The 1st owner, Viggo Asmussen, sold the boat in 2007 to the intermediate owner Poul Erik, living in Aarhus. In 2016 the current owners, 4 enthusiastic friends with sufficient nautical and carpentry skills, bought the ship.
With these new owners, the ship is taken care of every year. A new engine and reversing clutch installed in 2007.
